Scope: The refurbishment of the three storey Women’s Health building was carried out in three phases over a two year overall period. Three different contractors were appointed, phases two and three overlapped by a number of months. The main difficulty was programming the works in order to keep the full range of services open.
The works included the creation of a Midwife Lead Unit including some birthing pool rooms. The Special Care baby Unit and Neo-natal Units were also refurbished along with an Inpatient ward and the Outpatient accommodation.
